Gordon Ripley is a photographer who specializes in nature and landscape photography. When he is not out taking pictures he may be found doing photo restorations or giving lessons in using Photoshop to process digital photographs or basic aspects of photography for beginners. While interested in photography throughout most of his life, he did not begin to take his photography seriously until 1999 after retiring from a long career in computers. At that time he joined a local camera club and made good use of the club competitions to learn the rules of “competition photography”.
Over the past few years Mr. Ripley has been the president of two major camera clubs and is currently past president of the New England Shutterbugs Camera Club located in Leominster, Massachusetts. Since 1999, Mr. Ripley has planned and led members of his camera club on extensive trips to Yellowstone National Park, The Grand Tetons National Park, Western Colorado (for wild flowers and for fall foliage) and most recently the Eastern Sierras of California. He also has visited Oregon to photograph the coast as well as waterfall photography while hiking into distant locations in the Columbia River Gorge. In the New England area he has led an extensive number of photography trips with extensive knowledge of the best Photography locations in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
Gordon is a member of the photographic Society of America, The New England Camera Club Council, and the Monadnock Area Artists Association. He resides in southwestern New Hampshire.
